Who Trusts
Layout & Coding
Well first of all, your coding is valid! It seems like I hardly come across sites that have valid coding anymore, so I do applaude you for that. Moving on to your layout, I have mixed feelings about the image. I love the way it's made, it's actually an amazing graphic. But it's quite small. The navigation links and the site name can hardly be read, and if I weren't reviewing your site and looking so closely, I surely would have missed them. Another thing I'm wondering is why you have your Extreme Tracker and Fast Online Users link right smack in the middle of this gorgeous image? It totally ruins it for me. It's not like they blend in, couldn't you add those to your sidebar instead? Your CSS is okay, the color scheme is a bit boring, but I do like the headers on your sidebar. Your sidebar is uncluttered and well organized. I'm glad you have your navigation on the sidebar since it's probably frequently unnoticed on your image. All in all, I do like your layout but a few changes could be made. I noticed that you're going on a revamp, that would be a good time to fix a few things about your layout.
Content
Writings: Now, I'm a horrible writer so I am definitely not one to critique any of that type of work. I can say that your writing seems very good, I am excited to read more of
A Hamlet and I hope that more is added in the future.
Graphics: First of all, I think it's awesome that you made icons of Disney movies. It's not very often that I see this type of graphic, and it's a very original idea. All of your icons are amazing; you use a great variety of different effects and colorizations. The Wizard Of Oz ones are my favorites. On the first premade layout, the code seems to be missing. All of these layouts are
very well made, the problem I'm having with them is that they are all dark. I suggest adding some lighter colored layouts to appeal to different types of visitors. Your wallpapers wowed me - actually all of your graphics are amazing.
Resources: The frames are a neat idea, I haven't seen this before. I like that you made some of them out of different objects, one looks like a pillow. Too bad they aren't transparent, though. Your paper textures aren't transparent, either. They are nice, though. I really think you should transparentize these resources. The
black border icon textures are not so impressive, almost anyone could make those. The rest of your icon textures are much nicer, I especially like the white lights and white lines.
Tutorials: It kind of stinks that I have to click on links to the before and after picture to view them, and I have to view them separately. That makes it hard to compare the two. I suggest putting them together on the same page so the colorization can easily be seen. Well, I do like the after picture. Oh, on the next tutorial you do have the before and afters together. I'm not a big fan of that colorization, though - looks amateur. It's cool that the .psd file can be dowloaded, though. The third tutorial is back to having links to the before and after pictures. You need a more uniform method for these tutorials. Either have the pictures on the same page or don't, have the files downloadable or don't. Why are some available for download while others aren't? The tutorials, at least, are well-written and easy to understand. Your icon tutorials are much better, though, when it comes to how they are displayed. It's nice that you have a layout tutorial, it's also nicely written. Next, you've got coding tutorials. Whoa, wait - an iFrames tutorial? Why? People shouldn't even use iFrames anymore, but that's just my opinion. Your image mapping tutorial is very helpful, though. A lot of people think they need some fancy program to image map, but paint works just as well. Same with the style sheet tutorial. You've got some miscellaneous tutorials at the bottom. These would be very useful for people who are practically clueless when it comes to some things.
Site: Wow, I didn't realize your site was only a few months old. You've really come a long way in that short amount of time. This section is pretty standard, you've got your link buttons and credits here.
Alyssa: This section was very interesting to read. You've included so many things about yourself and not just the "name: alyssa, age: 18..." that a lot of people have. Wow, you're very pretty, too.
Overall
Overall, I really enjoyed reviewing your site, Alyssa. You have some really great content here, there were just a few suggestions I had for you. I was so happy not to see a bunch of grammar and spelling errors, kudos for paying attention in English class. Keep up the great work and good luck with the revamp!
